A day of visitors...

We were blessed with visitors today from North Carolina. A group from Caroline's Promise (an adoption grant agency that has helped us financially) came by to tour GSF. It was so neat that we were both here in Uganda at the same time and it was fun to see some familiar faces and show Zuri off to them:) We were also greeted by a mini-mouse in Leia's hand and an unwelcomed guest that I called SATAN!

  1. Well Jimmy, remembering how you felt about that black snake in you back yard, I am sure you did not enjoy "SATAN". That is mean looking!!!! Suz

  2. Now that he has seen the snake, Stan says he knows he will never go to Uganda. (Get him to tell you his childhood snake story sometime. It's crazy.) Leia, I dare you to bring the mouse home. Jimmy, I dare you to bring the snake home. All of you have that "look" in your pics of people who have come to understand something profound and real. I'm so excited about hearing it all. Angie

  3. Hi Renslows,
I've read every word. It's like a good book. I'm so happy that you have found your little girl. I know it has been a long wait. Your patience seems to have not been in vain as Gods handprint seems all over this experience for you and I look forward to watching the next chapter in His amazing plan for you guys. I have to admit it makes my heart ache a little to read your blog and grasp the reality of giving up my other dear friends to GSF but what a way to spend a life, wow. Looking forward to your homecoming! In Him, Polly

  4. To our favorite Renslow peeps,
It's been a joy to have an opportunity to catch up on your adventures and rejoice with your family as Zuri's adoption is now official. We are touched by God's goodness and excited to see the journey that He is taking you on.
Gayla, I have the utmost respect for you. Not like I didn't before...but I really do now. Dirt, bugs, snakes, stiff clothes, bugs burrowing in your skin, sleeping under nets, malaria scares, sickness...I mean really - how much can a woman take? Please know that you are responding to all that MUCH better than I ever could. I'm sure the rest of your family is feeling the pain of all that too - it's just totally different for girls. You are amazing!
Please tell Ms. Leia that Grace misses her something awful and can't wait for her to get back home. She has sent her emails and checks everyday to see if Leia has had a chance to respond. I tried to tell her about the internet connection (or lack there of) but she is still persistent...so for Grace, please tell Leia she is missed.
I know that this experience has been life changing for all of you and we can't wait to hear more. We send our love and prayers across the very many miles.
Love, Debbie and the rest of the Vosburgh's

  6. OMG - what kind of snake was that? I am soooooooo glad we did not see one like that when I was there. I would have gone into cardiac arrest.

Praying for you all and little miss Zuri. Prayer for healing and a speedy application process so we can see you here at home!
