Ripples into Food Lion?

So I needed to pick up a few groceries this afternoon and stopped at Food Lion. It was a little before nap time so I had Zuri out doing some errands. When I went up to pay for the groceries, the woman behind the cash register said, "Her name starts with a Z right?". Of course I say, why yes, how did you know. She proceeded to tell me that she had met her on another day along with her brothers and dad. She told me how much it meant for her to watch how much her brothers loved on Zuri and how rare that was. She just couldn't express what seeing their relationship with Zuri had meant to her. She said it affected her so much that after they left she just cried. It never ceases to amaze me what this adoption has brought our family and how it stretches so much farther than our family....all the way to Food Lion!

Fittin' in with the Renslows - quite the adventure

Zuri must deal with the quirky things the Renslow's like to do such as: spending a whole day watching Daddy play softball and spending time with wonderful friends seeing Transformers at the Drive-In. Zuri's friend Emma loves to give kisses - I mean REALLY loves to give kisses - they enjoy one another very much.

Cornerstone

There are really no words to give to our experience thus far. When people ask about the adjustment, we are simply at a loss and end up just mumbling "amazing." Gayla and I have given up time together, but how much of that did we have to begin with (13, 11, 9 year old and it's the summer). That has probably been one of the biggest adjustments because we actually enjoy dates and time with one another:) Since this is round two for us, we know that this is a season and one we welcome because of the immense joy that comes with the trade-off. I hope you enjoy these few pictures of our latest trip to Illinois for Cornerstone. We made a pit stop in St. Louis for a couple of days and Zuri was great in the car for 15 hours! Well...mostly great. On a side note...we wanted to mention that we are always open to talk to folks who are considering adoption and would welcome a chance to talk with others thinking about beginning this process.

Ain't no stoppin' her now...she's on the move!

It has been a long time since we posted anything and that has been because we have had a good deal of sickness to deal with and we were gone for a week to Illinois for a music festival. For our dear friends in Africa and family in other states, we wanted to show you how Zuri is doing and this video seems to be the best way to do it. We hope you enjoy it.
